Lourense Das

Lourense Das will be chairing the panel on Information Literacy development and training in educational contexts: creating knowledgeable and critical 21st century citizens, scheduled in EMMILE Programme on Feb. 27th, afternoon.

Lourense H. Das (1956) graduated in library sciences (BA) specialization school libraries, in 1976. She has worked in various schools and educational libraries. In 1996, she founded Meles Meles School Library Service, a private consultancy company. Lourense has worked as executive officer for the Dutch School Library Association (LWSVO) and the Dutch Library Association (NVB). In 2009, Lourense won the NOT (National Education Fair and Conference) 2009 Innovation Award for her concept and product FacTotem 2.0 and was nominated for the SME Limburg Innovation Award. Her international work includes secretary of the School libraries and Resource Centres Section of IFLA (2005-2007), coordinator and chair of the ENSIL  Foundation (since 2003); Director Europe (2003-2009) and Vice President Association Operations for IASL (since 2010).
