Laura Ballestra

Laura Ballestra will be contributing to EMMILE Programme on Feb. 28th morning with the following speech:

“Linking School and University through Information Literacy Education”

Abstract:

This study looks at the experience of the Mario Rostoni library at Università Cattaneo-LIUC that, since 2004, has been actively involved in teaching the process of documentary search to high school teachers. In its latest 7th edition, the teaching programme now named “Re-search to learn” shares with the teachers the experience and thinking gained from information literacy courses taught to undergraduate students at the Università. Several hundreds of teachers have attended the teaching programme and have gone on to include information literacy activities, based on what they learnt, in lessons within their own disciplines to students in the final years of high school.
